Alternate financing for university

Hello everyone,

Does anybody know of any alternate ways I can fund a years tuition at University? As I have had two years previous study already in Higher Education on different courses than the one I study currently, I am not eligible for funding for this year.

I have found a 'Professional and Career Development Loan' at barclays, and wonder if this is the best option? Unless other banks have competitive programmes?

Any advice or suggestions would be great! Thanks and Merry Christmas.

What course/profession do you want to study/follow?
Not all courses will be covered by the Barclays scheme.

This may well sound like a dumb dumb question, but have you spoken to the university? I worked in one and we'd always try to accommodate students with financial issues, and could come up with a variety of ways to find alternative funding. It would be worth talking to one of your tutors or someone in pastoral care rather than the people who deal with the money as they'll probably not budge when it comes to finding a solution!

Also if you keep changing what you decide to study you might want to find out why that is, and whether you think genuinely you're likely to stay on the course you want to get on. It might be worth taking some time out - earning some money to help with the fees - then when you're really sure what you want to do go back and study. You can even study in the evenings at some universities, working part time and studying part time might be another way to go.
