Approved foods

After seeing it mentioned lots of times last night I placed my first order on the approved foods website, I'm about to have a baby and I'm hoping to live on a pretty tight budget so that I can make my savings and maternity allowance last as long as possible. It was an added bonus that I got free delivery as a new customer! :j
The estimated delivery was given as between 27th December and 1st January, will I be given a better idea of when it'll be when it is despatched or will I literally have to wait in for 5 days waiting for it? Does anyone know who the courier they normally use is?
I'm sadly excited by this and how much further I can stretch my budget using it. I was slightly concerned by how OOD some of the stuff on there is but I'm thinking that they wouldn't sell it if it wasn't safe. I didn't order anythign I was dubious about though, I think I need to ease myself into this gently!!

Its usually delivered by DPS and you will get an email to say it's been dispatched. If you check your account as soon as it says dispatched it is usually delivered the next day (of course it may be different because of the Christmas period but the first delivery date has always been the day i've got mine) xxI will save my tesco £1 savings stamps this year! .......so far = £50 (full card#1)
Card #2 £6. I will not be skint at Chistmas this year!
Total £560 -
I used to work for a courier company and this is one of the quietest weeks of the year, our depot used to empty a few days before Christmas, so you should get it at the earlier end of the timescale.
DPD usually send you a text giving you a delivery time slot of 1 hour on the morning of delivery (something daft like 13:42 - 14:42
) - all my deliveries have been delivered within their time slot. 0 -
Great thanks. Do you know if they'll also call if they can't find the house? We're tucked away and can be difficult to find.
Can't remember half of what I ordered, it'll be like a second Christmas when it gets here!0 -

I'm like that every time they order lol, they'll find you don't worry, the only problem is stopping yourself from looking every day and ordering more!I will save my tesco £1 savings stamps this year! .......so far = £50 (full card#1)

I'll be avoiding it for a while, till we've moved house hopefully as I'm not even sure where I'll be able to fit this lot it, let alone anymore! I'm hoping that other than fresh stuff like fruit, veg, milk, bread etc we'll be ok for food for a while though. I think we'll be living on Mexican for a while, enchilada kits for 49p was just too good to turn down, plus garlic and herb tortillas for 20p for 8 was as well, although getting through the 12 packs I bought could be interesting!0

When I have a surplus of wraps I sandwich two together with garlic and herb soft cheese and use them as pizza bases a la Dominos dominator pizzas

Oh my goodness that sounds amazing. Ok, I will be holding you personally responsible when I can't lose my baby weight in the new year!

Wraps freeze really well. If you've ordered 12 packs I'd be putting most of them in the freezer.

I hadn't thought of freezing them as they're in air tight packs so thought they'd be ok for a while, mind you it'll probably take us longer than a while to get through them all!0

If they are vacuam sealed then they shouldn't need freezing. If you put your phone number in th box about any extra instructions then they may call you. I usually get an email about 7 or8 on delivery day giving a timeslot of one hour which has always been stuck to. Before that you can track progress on the Approved Foods website0
