Slimming thread moved

Options
Hi

I just logged on to find our slimming thread has been moved to I wanna to an established thread. I've tried to pm nearlyrich, but her box is full. How does everyone feel? I know threads can't be unmerged, but shall we see if we can get permission to start another one as alot of nerds don't leave dfw. For me weight and debt are emotionally linked so I want to tackle both.

Perhaps we could start a thread with an undercover name that will be missed by the forum team. :D Any ideas?

Sounds like a good plan, it took me ages to find it earlier. Anyway like you said, its not just about losing weight is it!

    Hi Zippy

There are already two established threads about dieting and that is why the DFW one was merged. As you know the main purpose of this board is to support people in debt and as someone pointed out in a PM yesterday there are so many random threads on this board that newbies in trouble are often pushed off the front page before they can get the help they need.

The rest of the boards are just as helpful and friendly as DFW and sometimes there are much more appropriate places to get the support you want.

My PM box has filled up whilst I have been out today, I am going to sort it but I am working right now so it will be later this evening or tomorrow before it's cleared;)

I'm no longer contributing to the weight loss thread as it's too hard to keep track of all the conversations of a large thread like that.

Shame as I like to support this community.

Could we find a way to do it that ties in more with DFW - we used to have a 'debt-free and fat-free wannabe' thread on here, so if it was along those lines, could it stay on DFW? I understand why the original thread was moved, but I'm just thinking that a lot of us don't really venture outside of DFW, so probably wont visit the merged thread, even though the people on there do seem nice.

Same here.. I find it too confusing to pick through massive threads to find the DFW slimming people.. shame as I thought it was a really good idea...

Yes, I agree that thread is far too large and unwieldy. Very sadly, I too will no longer be taking part.

Same for me too. It's a shame as getting debt free and wanting to shed the extra weight seem to go hand in hand and it's interesting how many of us do need and want to lose weight. Maybe there is a correlation here?

We could do a weekly update of how much we have saved/spent on food, and how much we have lost, with tips, chat and support on both fronts in between - would we be allowed to do that on here?

Thanks for the link, I was trying to find it but you beat me to it!

We could just revive it, but it's a massive thread already - what about 'Debt Free and Fat Free Wannabes 2', as I think a lot of people who used the first thread have drifted away.

Nearlyrich - what do you think? Don't want to cause problems for you!
