If they had actually gone into the hospital I would be disgusted, they only spoke on the phone, he agreed to pay it back on payday. People always come up with excuses they could have just thought he was trying to pull a fast one.
They did what most PDL companies do, agree repayments then go back on their word, this one was prob only communicated over the phone.
No they shouldn't have done what they did but will PDLs ever change.

These people are scum, simple as that. The company is owned by an American who operates in the UK because each state has its own Usuary laws in the US. I believe they knew what they where doing hounding a sick man in his hospital bed, disgusting tactics from disgusting examples of humanity. The only thing they will regret about this is the press exposure.0

Customer who owes money to loan company has what he owed removed from his account.
The (very sad) fact he was/is ill in hospital is of no bearing really.
The lesson is... Dont borrow what you cant afford to pay back.0 -
What shocks me more than anything is how some people continue to insist that these companies are 'OK.' Unbelievable.0

Well their website suggests you can borrow £50 and repay £64 on your next payday.
I wouldn't do it but it doesn't seem too horrific to me. Maybe my warped mindset is that I would repay £64 on my next payday which seperates our opinions.0 -
Agreed with apples2, if people actually stick to what THEY AGREE to, then there wouldn't be a problem.
I'm pretty sure more people do, then don't, they just don't fill up forums, saying I took out a loan and paid it back. The ones who fill them up are those who have tons of excuses as to why they didn't stick to the agreement
I've no doubt, these loans won't be available sometime in the future and it's a shame for those who need/use them responsibly.
The people who they can blame for having the option taken away from them, isn't the government or the local council etc...it's those who in the past have failed to stick to their end of the agreement.0
