Shall I just stop paying the Co-op?

Options
Helloo. I owe the Co-op around £11k on a credit card. We've been through the hoops of financial statements etc with them and have for months now been making a small repayment, about 1/10th of what we paid them before, but a fair pro rata payment. Needless to say, they're not chuffed.

Today my statement from them shows that against the £20-odd a month I pay them, they charge over £200 in fees and interest. Obviously this is nonsensical and only compounds my inability to make serious repayments, but they choose to continue. I've written numerous letters and have requested fees and interest stop, to no avail. Now I find myself wondering if I should channel that £20+ to another creditor instead, one that has accepted our repayment proposal and is playing nicely. At least I'm tempted to write to the Co-op and ask them for one good reason why I shouldn't do that, or should pay them just a token of £1 as the amount I pay is so obviously disappearing down an ever-widening black hole.

What do you think? Would a letter suggesting I am considering this be counter-productive or do you think there's any chance it might actually get results? I write a pretty good letter and have had some good results so far, but the Co-op are being absolute barstewards, they and Morgan Stanley are the worst by a mile.

Thanks :)
If you can't be a good example, be a dire warning :D

  • you can download a letter from national debtline that says something like....if you dont stop charges, its futile to keep paying you so i invite you to sue me in court and the court will accept my offer and all charges will be stopped.you will get a ccj but at least you will know how much you owe and they will have to accept.
People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with :)
