Two different brokers which one shall I choose???

I have been to see 2 brokers who have recommended exactly same product.
Both require fees, however the second broker I went to see was a lot more helpful, approachable and generally easier to get along with.
However the first mortgage broker seemed to hint to me that because he was the first to recommend the product, if we were to take the particular product with another broker we would have to pay his fee anyway.
We have not signed anything with anyone and it sounds like the first broker is trying to forcibly persuade us to take the product with him?
Just wondered if we were under any obligation to use him?

Unless you have signed any kind of fee agreement with the first broker then you are perfectly at liberty to walk away and owe him nothing regardless of the product or deal you apply for.
Generally broker fees are payable upon sucessful legal completion (when you move in) thus you should go with your gut instinct and use the broker you want to without feeling under duress.0 -
Sounds like the first broker is trying it on - you haven't signed anything and I assume that he didn't make you aware that you would be libel for his fees just after an initial meeting.
Why not find yourself a fees fee broker and see what they recommend (or even go direct to the lender that was recommended)?0 -
The first guy sounds desperate
If one of them has been more helpful than the other, adn everything esle is equal then go for that one
As Andy rightly says, if you have not signed anything, you are not bound to anything. Go to a fees free and get them to get you the product now you know what it is.I like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. (Milton H Erickson I think)0
