I never win :(

Hi All,

A friend of mine has won a few competitions now so a few months ago I thought I would try entering some. I enter all of the tv comps as well as magazine and radio ones, but I never seem to win anything :(

Has anyone got any tips? Are all you compers entering online daily?

Thanks

Dee

  • You need to enter as many as you can, you might win from entering the odd few but you are more likely to win if you enter loads of competitions. How many do you enter on average?

I only started in August and had a big win at the beginning and then it went quiet until December when I won a Costa coffee machine and £100 shopping vouchers- it is just down to luck and putting the time in!

The best thing to do is not to expect anything and whatever does come is a bonus.

if you are entering th like sof chat, woman's own etc you really need to be entering daily & to maximise your chances sharing so you can enter more than 6. I've won off the radio ones but only when thye've had a geographic restriction on them

My advice would be to enter as many as possible from different types of sources - websites, facebook , twitter etc & don't diss the smaller prizes - many people do so the chances of winning are better, I still haven't used all the shampoo I'v won

Ive been entering daily since the 8th of December and so far have won £250, a HIPP teddy, a pringles speaker, and 8 cans of ting. Not to rub it in but to emphasize the importance of entering online daily.

I enter, i believe on average around 80 competitions per day. I have a false facebook and twitter purely for entering competitions, so i dont spam my friends. Retweets and Facebook comps take minutes, and so do the advents. When i get a spare few minutes I check the main board and enter a few that catch my eye.

Good luck and keep up with it.

I started comping in September and by the end of November still hadn't won anything.

Since the first week of December I've had 7 wins- 1 big and the rest smaller, but just as pleasing.
The only difference between now and Sept-Nov is that I am entering more competitions and a wider variety.

A lot of the advent wins aren't notified until the end of December, so fingers crossed you win something. :)

doing a 1000 a month all sorts but still only win maybe one small thing a month, some months nothing, its luck of the draw, a big one might be round the corner. This year has been worse for a lot of people comping, less prizes, more ways of entering ie facebook twitter, hardly any entry forms. Have won in the past and will do again. hopefully:A chat and womans own etc are possibly the worst to win from. try local ones, photos, effort etc.
  • A few people have mentioned advent wins, what is this? I have never heard of it.

just to say (and dont mean to be a killjoy) but fb rules dont allow multiple accounts and i have known some people to be disqualified from comps for having more than 1 account. the point of liking and sharing is so that your friends may like their page and hence may buy something from them. i spam my friends but if they dont like it, they can delete me lol
Thanks to all those fab compers who post:j:T

The other option is to give up, which IMO is silly for you but great for someone else because if you have 1 entry, you have 1 chance, no matter how massive the odds are stacked against you, whereas no entry = no chance = more chance for someone else.

    Only saying.
Golly, I've got the newt pregnant...
