Options
As the title suggests really are there any success stories from people who have had defaults / ccj's drop off their account after 6 years who have successfully got a mortgage after this date ?

    Absolutely yes.

Lender selection and deposit as a % of sale are crucial though.

  • I got a mortgage with Britannia 3 years ago, exactly six years and three months after I started my IVA. I got a 5.19% 2 year fix at 90% LTV; Britannia are quite fussy who they lend to also.

Re-mortgaged last year with ING @ 3.19% as we now have 75% LTV.

Getting a good mortgage deal post-IVA is definitely doable if you clean up your credit file properly.
