He should know on Monday whether there is a job for him or not (keeping everything crossed!).
OP, I hope it works out for you , I don't know whether you will be better off financially, although one would hope so. I just believe that it is better not to be dependent on State Benefits unless you have to be (because you have to jump through so many hoops to get them and the benefits can be removed on a whim). I also believe as another poster said that it is much easier to get a job once you've got a job (if you see what I mean!).
Wishing you well.
Hello,
did your son get the job?
My husband stayed behind for an extra hour on friday to help finish some jobs. He asked the MD if they wanted him in on monday, but he just said "no, we'll let you know". He then came out to my husbands car and said thankyou for doing such a good job.
Well we haven't heard a thing and when DH went to sign on this afternoon they weren't going to let him as the company he did the trial for hasn't returned the work trial forms that they were meant to fill out before the trial started. knowing we would loose a fortnights money my DH got a little cross and the JC called the company to chase the forms and allowed DH to sign on.
This has been more agro than its worth and Dh came home on friday feeling really used and down trodden.
I think perhaps some of you where right in thinking my DH would just be used.

Donna, you also need to take the longer term view as to being better off, rather than just on an immediate basis. As has been said, it's always easier to get a job when you already have one; even if this isn't well paid, it will enable your husband to keep his skills up to date and prevent him having a long period of unemployment on his CV. If he gets the job it might be as well to forget time off for the scan, unless he's due any holiday; it's very close to his starting with them. I hope it works out for him.0
