So disappointed in myself :-(

Hi All!
I got back from a two week holiday a fortnight ago and whilst I was away I put on 10lbs (OMG!!). But if I put on weight quickly it usually comes off just as fast.
I am so frustrated and upset with myself that the weight is not coming off. I weighed myself 1 day ago and had lost 3lbs. Weighed myself this morning and have put back on 2lbs! I genuinely do not understand how.
Yesterday for lunch I had chicken breast with peas and sweetcorn & the same for dinner. How has that made me put on 2lbs? So after 2 weeks I have lost 1lb!
Hand on heart, even though temptation is everywhere because its xmas (chocolates, cakes & biscuits constantly on offer at the office) I have not had one bite of cake, or even one measly chocolate and I thought it would be paying off now.
I know you shouldnt weight yourself everyday but I didnt expect this terrible result. So, 2 weeks on, I have lost 1lb despite no slip ups, no chocolate, no take aways and no wine!
I am so upset and down about it. What do you think has happened for things to go so wrong?

Hi CrazyAngel
1st thing - stop worrying/stressing about it. That does not help weight come off
It perfectly normal to only lose 1lb a week as that very healthy way to lose weight so don't beat yourself up about it
Please only weigh yourself in the morning. If you are weighing yourself at different times this won't give you an accrual reading of what your weight is as it can go up and down during the day and most of that will be 'water weight'
Hope this helps a little0 -
It is so quick to go on and so terribly slow to come off
. Try not to be disheartened, I am sure if you eat sensibly and exercise it will soon come off. Maybe better though to only weigh yourself once a week. Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Don't be so hard on yourself! I know it's easier said than done! I'd just like to echo what's already been said! It will take a few/couple of weeks for the weight to come off!0

Thank you everybody! I will keep trying, had an innocent veg pot for my dinner tonight so i'm still on my best behaviour despite feeling down right fed up :-)0

This is a faith thing - if you keep on doing the right things, one day the scales are going to do the opposite to what happened this morning and show an unexpected loss. That's the nature of weight loss. You're better focusing on process rather than outcome. easier said than done though I know.0

Woo hoo! Weighed myself this morning (I know, I know) and I have lost 4lbs since yesterday, so thats 5lbs in total (just as you said would happen about an unexpected weightloss Belfastgirl23). Feeeling back on track and a lot happier now!0

Just try to remember this for next time though, if you know you're doing all the right things, eventually weight loss does happen though it might take longer than you'd like
