Default Info??

Options
I have just looked at my credit files to see what was going on and have noticed that I have a default on my file.

It is dated 14 June 05 for £604 from the OUBSA (revolving open university student account). It states that it is satisfied as I paid this off in full but has no settlement date. I think it sometime in July?

However, I cannot recall for the life of me ever being notified of this default or receiving any letters etc regarding a default. Did receive letters chasing payments and had several phone calls with them confirming that I would be paying within a few days etc.

When a company places a default, do they have to tell you they are doing so? How do I go about finding out more info?

FYI I cant find the original agreement but I do remember having it (it would have been signed way back in 2000).
