Keep a spending diary, you have time before you visit CAB. Make a note of everything including food, nappies, cleaning products, etc. This will help you identify exactly what you are spending on housekeeping.

Usually, it is advisable to pay off debt before saving anything (put the child's savings on hold for the time being), it is a personal choice ultimately and I don't think CAB would make you remove it, but they might challenge it if it is a high percentage of your spare income. It really depends on your debt levels.

Remember that your budget has to be sustainable, so dont make it too small. Definately keep a spending diary and allow for toiletries, cleaning, and so on. Good luck

    Hi Danielle

The housekeeping seems fair - remember there is loads of money to be saved by a) using stardrops to clean EVERYTHING a 70p bottle lasts over a month easily, be sparing!
    b) joining Pigsback for Boots vouchers (thread in freebies board) - all your toothpaste, shampoo etc can be free (or put them towards nappies if you still need those).

Maybe compromise on the savings and stick £5 a month in? It still builds up but frees up £30 a month for other debt.
