I am not sure where this leaves me now....
A verbal agreement has no legal standing. As the other party could very easily contest your view. To protect your interests you should have had a declaration of trust drawn up.
So you'll need to negotiate a compromise with your ex.
What's your ex's stance? Has she expressed a view as to what she expects from the property?0 -
ACG - have had the conversation, yes. Currently she is in rough agreement on my previous post. I'm more thinking ahead for if / when someone else may try and "advise" her to go for more - you never know etc.
Newbie1980 - 'proof of where funds came from' - as in the Deposit or the Overpayments ? Overpayments 100% nailed-on as it's from years of savings accounts that were solely in my name.
Thanks.
Look like they are still in the right ball park
BUT you never know when other people get involved especialy those that can benifit(new partners solicitors).
50:50 is unlikley given the cash trail.
As an exercise I would do
the exact numbers taking into account the savings on interest etc due to the overpayments
basic cash in/out as in my above post(the partial loan method).
Depends how long since it was paid off how big the difference will be but likely to be not much, depends on the interest rate.0
