Mini achievement

I know it might not sound that big - buti am really proud to say that I haven't used a pay day loan for a month!!! It's really making a difference since paying money shop and wage day advance off last month. (Owed £875 in total to them)
I've suffered a bit this month but I now feel like its worth it! Can put that debt onto something else!
Wo else has a mini achievement that they wish to share?

So proud of you!!!!
My credit card ( £1000 ) and overdraft ( £1000 ) have been cleared as I wanted before the end of the year!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Thanks! The NSD challenge definitely helped so thank you!

That is amazing!!! Well done!
I too fell trap to Wonga - this time last year I was taking one out to fund a New Year's Eve outing that I couldn't really afford - and an outfit I didn't need and never wore again...
This year I have savings, and have budgeted for NYE. I have £176 in my Money Pot (which is for treats, clothes and spends) - but it's money I've saved and made cutbacks for... whilst still clearing my debts.
Now I get texts from Wonga and it feels good not to be relying on them to make it through the month <must delete my details from them!>
Well done again... It's a great achievement!!! Congrats on passing the £10,000 milestone... I will break it next month too. We're all doing amazingly well. Hoorah for us

Well done, give yourself a pat on the back. My achievement is the same as yours, I am four weekly paid and have just got to payday without a payday loan too. The first time in three years, I have never got into difficulty paying but I scared myself stupid when I was eventually borrowing £1100 from Wonga only to pay back £1340 on pay day then borrow it again. It makes me sad to think of he 1000s I have paid in interest over the years.
I am really pleased for you and long may your progress towards a debt free existence continue.0 -
Well done everybody
I've paid off 1/3 of my debt as of yesterday - still got a long way to go till I'm free but glad to hit that milestone for the end of the year
I've got the paying-off bug and there's no stopping me now - heads down for the next 18 months. I've successfully navigated through the work expense of Christmas with very little involvement in the festivities. One colleague even told me he's consolidated his debts into a loan so he can carry on spending as usual (and he was the worst one for putting public pressure on me to join the expensive team lunch at Marco Pierre White and pay for the privilege). Glad that's no longer me

That is amazing, it's so hard to break the cycle of those things. Bet you'll have a much nicer Christmas without that hanging over your head
Congrats too and breaking the £10,000 barrier- it feels nice huh!?
