in Cutting tax
Evening all,
I registered for self-assessment this year to cover some additional weekend/evening work I was going while being full time employed.
I've been asked to submit a tax return for 2011/2012 however I have nothing to declare as I didn't earn any additional income during this period.
I know I still need to submit a return but is it simple enough to submit a return stating nothing to declare. All my invoices were paid from June 2012 on wards.

Your return would still need to include all your income from employment and any other sources ( bank interest etc). It should calculate out at zero tax to pay if everything was taxed at source.0

Ok, 2 jobs during the tax period of 2011/2012. Guess I need to dig out the p45 for the job I left, but what about the job I currently hold - how do I calculate the various values for the return here as I wont have a p60 yet.
Surely this should be easier ...0 -
Forgive me, I've just found my P60 and some additional details for everything I need.
Apologies I'm in a slight mild panic with this being my first time and determined to do this alone.0 -
Ask your employer for your P60.
Prepare some accounts for your business profits or losses from the start date of the business if you registered as self-employed.0
