  • Hi Katy Ann

We all have down days when it all seems to much. Do you think you could approach your old Best friend. Maybe open up to her about that you are tackleing your debt so can't afford to do anything at the moment. If she REALLY is a best friend she should stick with you through thick and thin.

I noticed from your info that you live in Dorset. I do too. I live in North Dorset, maybe I could be your new friend :j:beer:.
At least we have alot in common = Alot of debt :):D:o.

    Keep smiling xx
  • How are you feeling today Katy Ann? :)

Try and stay positive, maybe add a ticker clock on your signature and you can see the days till your DFD change which is a huge motivator. ;)

I started my debt free journey in 2009 and I felt at times the same, not only did I just split up with my long term partner, I was unable to do what all my friends could do. Yes, some 'forgot' about me but some didn't and those are 'real' friends.

I had ups and downs but was determined to get debt free quicker and I did, by 2 years. Whilst I couldn't go out etc, I started volunteering for charities. I met some fantastic people and I had something to do.

When ever you feel down, remember, you are not alone, just come here for support by your 'cyber' friends :D:D

  • Aw bless you, its tough and I can relate to how you feel. It is hard to keep up with friends when you are in debt, especially if your friends are either rich or live as if they are.

When I read posts like yours though I always think "she will get this sorted". I read so many posts where people are still in denial about their financial situation and say they have had a lightbulb moment but you cant tell they really dont want to do anything about it.

I dont have many friends, cant remember the last time I went out on a night out (probably last Christmas!) and I get by. At least I know I am not spending money I dont have.

Good luck with it hun, keep posting on here, there are some lovely people about to give you a bit of moral support.

I don't know you at all, but have been moved by your posts here, and the wonderfully supportive comments of others. So, have a Xmas hug, they cost nothing, work wonders and I have an inexhaustible supply :)
