Advice 4 long-term unemployed

  • You said about working with older people - how about support work or care work? I work as a support worker and the vast part of my job is basically helping them do everyday normal things - banking, shopping, visiting friends, cooking and cleaning. It does depend who you support and where you support and who you work for, but there is an abundance of people needed now as were an aging population. I would definately also say even if you get a few weeks here there and everywhere it will give you the vital references needed to go further up the ladder.

    Its not what you know, but who you know for many jobs nowadays. The other thing i'd recommend is to go back to the cache pages on the jobcentre for the past jobs as the amount of people that leave jobs within 6 months is crazy (it might be just the jobs i've done, but in many i've seen no end leave within 6 months) so giving them a call/e-mail might get your foot in the door
    :T:T :beer: :beer::beer::beer: to the lil one :) :beer::beer::beer:
