OS Cleaning materials - what should my basics be?

Ah - the grotty white plastic toilet seat - I had one of those until recently. In the end I bought some Tesco value own brand brillo pads - after you've scrubbed the seats you can just bin them.
I'm afraid to say that no end of scrubbing with assorted cloths, bleach, stardrops etc got rid of the stains that only men seem to produce around the seat - but the brillo pad did the job - and it doesn't seem to have damaged it in any wayI'd be careful if you have an expensive loo seat though!!

My bathroom taps are very soap 'scummy'. Anyone tell me how to clean them?
put toothpaste on, let dry , wipe off perfect ! cheapest supermarket cola brings toilet up sparkling , god knows what it does to your stomach !0 -
How much cola do you use in the loo? I've tried this, and denture cleaning tablets, both overnight, and neither seemed to make much difference. Our loo isn't dreadful but could do with a bit of sparkle!Have I said something useful?

Could anyone tell me where to buy some decent microfibre cloths from please? I know a lot of places sell them but I read, probably somewhere on here i think (!), that the cheaper ones are really not worth buying and it's worth splashing out on these.
So where did you get yours?!?!Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
Microfibre cloths, I think the cheapest I found was Tesco, 3 value ones are 89p and had no problems with them.
Also have found them in
ASDA
Lidl
Home Bargains
Wilkinsons
Sainsburys
£1 shops - the ones from here I found were very handy as they are colour coded for certain jobs
All mine have been ok and wash well, but don't use fabric conditioner when washing them! One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -

Bicarbonate of Soda is great for freshening carpets - just sprinkle it on & leave for a bit (overnight is preferable) & it will freshen cheaply & without that sickly smell you get from expensive carpet fresheners! (Great if you have cats & dogs like me)0

another tip
when washing your bedding sprinkle bicarb on your matress and leave airing for a few hours this odourises sweat then vacuum off when ready to make up bed sounds mad but it works0 -
Hi all, so glad I found this thread.
How can I clean in between my bathroom tiles? They're mouldy. I've tried brushing with an old toothbrush and an Ecover all-purpose cleaner but apart from sweating, i didn't achieve much in terms of results.
Also, how to clean my oven (it's pretty manky admitedly) without chocking myself with all those powerful products out there?
I'd be interested in any advice. Thanks!0
