Hello everyone, it's good to read all your inspiring stories!
I've just made £150 overpayment this month so, taking into account my normal payments, my mortgage will now stand at around £92,600. I've also got myself a little mortgage pig (well, it's a cat actually), and am getting some expensive jobs out of the way now, so I'm planning to lob on some bigger overpayments in the next few months.
Feels good, doesn't it?!Mortgage free in 3: Member no 51 Target: reduce mortgage by extra £10K Currently almost 50% of the way there

Oops - got my latest credit card bill.... nearly £4k!!! Well, had to pay for my car to get repaired and the insurance was up for renewal as well and that was £1.2k on it own. I'm also getting married in August so we've had to buy the dress and rings etc etc. and that was another £1.5k approx so far... not counting the honeymoon yet. Trying to keep the whole wedding thing under £6k and we're on target for that (not bad considering the avg. UK wedding costs £22k approx!). Anyway I sold some shares and am using that to pay for the wedding and some of the mortgage.0

Wow, just came across this completely inspirational thread when I should be cleaning the kitchen floor!
I can't commit to this for three years but it has inspired me to do something about making over payments whenever I can - thanks to you all and good luck; I'll be popping in occasionally to get motivated.0 -
Our mortgage was £80,811 at 1/4/07
1/6/07 £79857 with offset of £22.5k and £15.6k M&D's offset so net £42k
30/6/07 £79350 with offset £24.1k and £15.6k M&D offset so net £40k, but our money is £55k.
This month we cashed in some shares £1.2k, OH bonus £1k, OH bought a new motorbike(!) -£3.4k, spent money on our new ccard & tfr the money to offset savings £500 (& £1.1k holiday but not tfr'd this yet - saved £20 as paid £100 every day on the net saving 2% fee for paying with ccard), £500 var savings, £2k free overdraft from A&L tfr'd to offset savings, £500 tfr'd from all calcs to A&L 12% savings account.....
I am going to sort all our boxes of "STUFF" in the loft & e-bay, car boot next month - not got round to it as the weather has been awful.
Do we need to PM this to someone every month or just qtrly??

Everyone needs to PM Tallgirl with their figures (details on post 2 on page 1) Feel free to post on the thread as well but let's make life as easy as possible for TG. Trying to find all the info from the thread alone would be very time consuming for her.
Some excellent reductions all round team, well donekeep going we are on a roll

Hi all...:D
Am I right in thinking we're posting info only this month and shouldn't PM TallGirl this month as she is not updating the stats until beginning of Aug? Is that right?Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Newbies
For people who want to join this challenge please post on here wiht your start mortgage from 1st April 2007 and what your aim is to reduce it to in 3 years when this challenge ends April 2010. Dithering Dad will then give you a quest number and add you to the first post. Once you have a quest number I Tallgirl can add you to the chart.
Existing Member who are not yet on the chart
Please PM me with your quest number, start mortgage and current mortgage balance and I will add you to the chart.
Existing Members already on the chart:
I would like to post the chart here every 3 months to give us all an idea on how well be are doing. Some people don't get their statements every months and have to phone up for it so every 3 months should be a about right.
I currently have 49 people on the chart with 80 in the challange. I was just trying to get more people to get on the chart. If you get me your figures by 5th August at the latest I will post it on the 10th August.
So Taka you don't need to do anything just PM me sometime in July with an up to date balance.
Hope this makes sense or look in post 1 and 2.
