    Hi All
Back of my holiday, wedding went well but I did not get to see my sisters baby. She was 16 day late so she was born the minute we landed back at Heathrow. So typical but at least all went well and I have seen the pictures.

Back to the more important business of our quest. I have updated the chart based on people Private Messages to me (thank you so much) and the messages on this board. I find it hard to get all the information by reading it on here so if I have missed anyone out please just PM me and I will add you. (Just click on my username and it says send private message).

    Well here is the chart.

Sorry Tall girl to question you after your hard work, but I think I'm number 56 and I know I have been bad and not paid anything off yet but I am still around and I'm going to pay a measly £20 off at the end of the week.

    Thanks

  • Hi heck, I've added you to the list - I hope you're getting all that money by legitimate means! ;)

I've just had confirmation of my next contract, so will be starting Monday. Home and garden improvements notwithstanding, I should still be on track for the quest :)

    Hi DD,
Yes money will be coming in via legitimate means thanks to recent contract as 'Project Assurance Consultant'. Glad to hear about your new contract too! What sort of work you're into?

TallGirl - Hope you enjoyed your holiday, can you kindly add me to your spreadsheet?

LJD1, you are doing sooo well, can i have some top tips?

    HIya Carlsberg,
My top tips would be to follow lots of the ideas on this site and use it for support when you're feeling fed up and the only person you know with no money. Most of my friends spend spend spend and it's great to have a site like this to realise that you're not the only one who can't afford everything. I no longer take things at surface value.....yip, friends have lots of holidays and a new car but they're also sooooo in debt. I'll be using this thread to help me have the willpower to pay money off the mortgage instead of spending. I've stopped trying to keep up with the Jones and now keep up with all the people on here. Good luck paying of your mortgage.

I agree! My youngest sister thinks she's so much better than the rest of us because she got a degree at Uni, gets OTE, has an OH who's a SOCIAL WORKER fcol, and has friends who a very high flyers, but she's in debt up to her eyes - had to sell her flat a couple years ago to try and clear things and got right back in debt AGAIN! Spend, spend, spend & drink, drink, drink. Soooo glad I'm me with my, sometimes extreme but very worthwhile, MS((E) as distinct from MS health) practices, that I've got everything I need with a lot of extras - such as my upcoming trip to France, now to be with the foster kids. But more than that, people LIKE me because my head's not up my whatever! I am so sick of being put down by people who poo poo the little efforts made to get debt free - but those are the efforts that will get you there rather than the occasional grandiose ones simply for visual reasons - let me hear yeah yeah! Whether we all make mfi3 or not, if we try our best whenever we can, we will make a difference. I think I should go now - starting to get just a little too bolshy for this time of night! xx Sleep well all questees
:( Struggling too much wears a body out

I had an inkling that you were a contractor with that sort of cash flow. I'm a SAP HR and Payroll consultant, though hopefully only for a max of 5 more years - the plan is to get my mortgage paid off and increase my pension pot from 75k to 100k over the next three years and then purchase two BTL properties during the remaining 2 years.

The BTLs and pension should ensure that I have a secure and comfortable retirement and having no mortgage should allow me to have a secure and comfortable life to retirement.

There will probably be a lot of hard work and sacrifice along the journey but the destination is well worth the effort.

    Morning All
Thanks for all the PM's (Private Messages) I am currently updating the spreadsheet and will post it again fully later this week. I am really struggling with people who just ask me to add them on without giving me their quest number and balances. It is not too bad if you have them in your signature but some I just cant find the information and am sorry it just takes too long.

I am not trying to be difficult but with over 60 and all sorts of names and numbers it does take a while and I want it to be right. If people dont know how to PM please just click on my username TallGirl above the picture of my fat cat and it will give you the option to send private message.

Carlsberg can you please ask DD to add you the quest so you have a number and then give me the balances. Malayca sorry I can't find you on the quest list so can you ask DD to give you a number.

Sorry if I sound stroppy did not mean to just asking for a little bit of help with this. Off to London today for a meeting at least it is only 2 days to the weekend now.

  • SuperFastGran!! Woo Hoo!!!!

You really went on a journey then didn't you. I mirror everything you say and applaud you whilst standing! :D

I think everyone here knows the importance of looking after their finances and once this is in place then moving towards the 'flash arena'. If you know what I mean???

I'm trying to drill into my 20 year old cousin that he really must start saving. He is terrible. He is so terrible that I've opened an account for him and request £5 here and there from him and put money in myself. I do the same for his younger brother who is 13 so I really can't ask him to fund his own account! :rotfl: I have also started tdoing the same for my lodger. I bet that sounds weird. She's my ex fiancee and is the worst person I have ever met when it comes to keeping in the black. Tut tut tut. It's a long story so we won't go there!!! ;)

Anyway, my point is this. I think we should all look after who we care about and if anyone in that big bad world criticises us for it. Turn a deaf ear and come here and discuss it. There'll be lots of support here. GUARANTEED!

Speaking of support. Come on lads and lasses, what's the latest tip to save money that we should all do?

I've opened a bank account and should have £100 coming to me in a couple of months.
I've attempted to switch energy suppliers but Scottish Power are dragging their heels. I WONDER WHY!!!!
I've started over paying by a little more than I did.

That's about it. What else can I do fellow savers? Any tips would be grateful. :T

    Have a great day people.
