Trolls abusing and maligning my beloved Questees??? How dare they!!! We are on a challenge, and we are realists so are all expecting things to be difficult at times...but to be heckled by some cowardly character who is able to hide, then snipe, anonymously, is sickening. However, the Moderators have dealt the fatal blow, and his head is on a stake outside MSE Towers...OK I'm getting carried away into Jabberwocky country again, but it made me feel better.
Keep up the good work everyone. We are all rallying round you DD...you are our hero...three cheers for DitheringDad...Hip, hip........Mortgage Free in Three cheerleader0 -

Hi all
I missed the action over the weekend as well. I cannot believe some accused you of lying DD, especially as you've said plenty of times before where the lump sum payment came from. And it's no one elses business anyway. I hope people don't say I'm a liar when it gets to august and I pay in the region of 25k off my mortgage in one month!
I find that trying for such a strenuous goal, which I wouldn't have even attempted if it wasn't for DD, makes me even more disciplined and just makes me want to try that bit harder. If I didn't have such an obvious aim then I'd spend a bit here and there and after 3 years I certainly wouldn't have as much in savings as I'll have paid off the mortgage.0 -
THought we could all do with cheering up so I have updated the chart on page 1 and here is another copy. It is now looking really good.
Remember if you want to be added for the next update please give me your figures (see post 2 for explanation) by the 5th June and I shall do a status as of 1st June so we can see how well we are doing.

25k in one month? You Liar!
What lovely messages to log onto! It certainly made a nice change from the ones on Saturday night, that's for sure.
I can't believe how much we've all paid off so far, it's a brilliant figure. If we carry on at this rate we'll become "anti-mortgage" heros and all end up in the newspapers and on daytime TV!
I can see us now, all stood around Richard and Judy as he makes some daft comment and she gives him that "look" she gives. The camera quickly pans away from him and onto me and a million housewives swoon. The show's phone lines are swamped, their postbag is deluged. Eventually, such is the demand from the nation's housewives, I get my own TV show, which is comprised mainly of me smiling into the camera and the ladies in the audience screaming!
It could happen! :rotfl:

Only joking DD. Most of us know that Sloppy is a troll. A shame as I think he could have some good points to make but he chooses to insult people first and foremost. As with all trolls the best thing to do is ignore and report them. I don't doubt we'll still have him signing back up to the site as he has done a couple of times already.
As for the MFi3 quest, I'm strongly debating whether to join in or not. For the moment I am happy to sit, watch and make lots of tea and cakes instead.

daft troll - i think kick-starting with a lump-sum is how quite a few of us got started - i cashed in some premium bonds that martin's article made me realise were just high hopes, to kick mine off.

Oh I know, ever since I changed to silk Frenchies, I've been like a new man! I've changed your gender on the OP and updated your mortgage to the correct amount for April 1st.
Yay! It's the 16th of the month and that means my mortgage has been paid and the new figures are in! Just off to update my signature. I love this part of my month
p.s. I have just noticed that my monthly payments have gone up an extra £19.62 due to the recent interest rate rise. There's an incentive to get this damned mortgage paid of ASAP if ever I needed one!Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

Rather than struggle on my own, can I join your gang please? I've been shovelling spare pennies at the mortgage for 3 months now and we've saved £40K in interest so far but I'm running out of pennies and it is getting hard

Sure thing, just post your 3 year challenge and I'll add your details to the OP(i.e. "Reduce her mortgage by £10,000").Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)
