I expect we've been unstickied because we keep getting people coming on here wanting to join and we're half way in.
Maybe the thread title could be changed to include our start or end date?
(Just an idea don't even know if it's doable).

Did anyone actually ask why we've been unstickied? It could even have been an admin oversight!
(I do agree that the most likely reason is the people who want to join the thread).
Martin/mods - if you're reading this, I thoroughly endorse DD's sentiments - it would be lovely to have one thread showing the whole journey.
We're still short of money atm, so our overpayments have slowed down (but still exist). This thread prompted me to check my outstanding balance, which at 1st June was £20,007 - how frustrating is that! Even more frustrating, the BS are saying I can't make an overpayment today as my monthly payment is in transit. So I will definitely be under £20k next week... :grrrEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

A sticky is one of the threads that stays at the top of the menu on the forum regardless of how recent its last post was.
On the list of threads on the forum it says "sticky" before the title of the threadOperation Get in Shape

Have just sold an extra photo to a weekly mag (no, nothing exciting!), so that is an extra £55 or so to overpay. It was submitted to them by one of my clients, so it was a nice surprise.
We are going on hols for the next couple of weeks so will be spending a little more than usual, but way less than we would have done in our pre-MSE days!
Will make sure I find an internet cafe to have a look at the new chart when it comes out!"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
Hi everyone,
Have just emailed TG with the predicted update (and we've reduced our mortgage by £150 in six months - cue sort of drum roll).
Hey, well, that's what happens when you lose your job (wry smile)
So glad to be a part of this challenge - it's helping to keep my motivation levels up. It's going to get harder when my OH also leaves his job.
One of the things I'm considering is retraining (it looks like I've got a funded place, plus a grand a month to live on but I would have to be away from home, and it's not exactly the right field for me at the moment). Has anyone else done this (at closer to 40 than I would like to admit) and made it work?

Hi Freedom Girl
In think £150 if you don't have a job is a great achievement. Until we sold the house last week we were going backwards for most of this year and our figures at the end of June would have been only £650 better than for end Dec which was depressing me (this is barely the standard payments (hence the lack of sig update!)
HOWEVER, I think if we hadn't been focused we could easily have said "oh well it's not our fault we've got a lot of expenses at the minute" and carried on as normal rather than cutting back so we'd actually have ended up borrowing back some funds instead.
Sorry this is a bit waffling but I guess I'm trying to say £150 is a step closer to the target even if it's only a small step (and it's certainly better than moving further away!!!)

I miss this thread being a sticky!
When July's payment goes through on the 1st of the month, our mortgage will be down into the £150ks (just)!
Huge distance still to go, but a lovely milestone to hit before we go on hols."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0
