    big thank you

to TallGirl, Dithering Dad and AnW's Mum for their hard work this past year in keeping us on target and determined to beat the bankers.

wow! One third down in one third of the time- it's perfectly timed so far!

Here's to everyone else too, and to another happy year of being ever nearer mortgage free.

    Balance 19th April '07 = minus £27,640
Balance 1st November '09 = mortgage paid off with £1903 left over. Title deeds are now ours.
  • What a fantastic chart, just goes to prove what you can do if you put your mind to it.

Thanks to Tallgirl for the chart and Anw's mum for the statistics and DD for the ideas, I could be mortgage free !!!

I don't think we could have saved nearly £ 10k without all the great ideas that have been posted on all the MFW threads.

We are hoping to pay off some lump sums this year to try and reduce the length of the mortgage but keep the payments the same.

    Keep up the good work

    WELL DONE EVERYONE!!!!!! :j :j :j

AND MANY THANKS TO DD FOR THE IDEA, TALLGIRL FOR THE HARD WORK & ANW'S MUM FOR CHEERLEADING AND STATS!!!!!!

If we carry on as we are we'll make it!!!!! Remember that 1 year in and owing £1.23 million :Dless than we did more of our ordinary monthly payments will be going to reduce capital instead of the nasty 'i' word, so our target will be easier to achieve :T :T :T :T :T .

Dear Mr Brown & Mr Darling,
Sorry about the chaos we've created. If you post the country's SOA on the DFW board I'm sure you'll get some constructive feedback on where to make some savings.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

That's fantastic. What an achievement for all concerned.
I wonder how we'll all do in the next year? Off to get my car big service done tomorrow so it's going to be a scary one! That means I'll have to find around £400 to pay for it and a stereo- can't drive it to France with no muzak!

  • Wow!! Those figures look great. I joined the challenge pretty late on, I think October time last year ish. I haven't paid of a huge amount extra off my mortgage, but I've started. And I intend on stepping it up over the next two years. Thanks again for the opportunity. Its made me and the fella look at our life alot differently in what we want to achieve.

    Thanksx
