I'm thinking of doing the Jamie Oliver jerk ham recipe this year. It calls for a leg of ham. I'm confident in buying beef, chicken & lamb. Less so with pork/gammon/ham. Can I buy this in a supermarket?

I bought mine in aldi - a bone in joint. Had one last year and it was lovely. I'm doing mine in Dr Pepper instead of coke this year but the jerk one sounds interestingPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

the jamie xmas tv programme uses ham hocks they cost about £1.50 from a pork butchers - i made them last year and i got mine pre boiled so all i had to do was coat them in jerk sauce and cook them in the oven. they taste fab, the meat just falls off the bone.Wins: 2008: £606.10 2009: £806.24 2010: £713.47 2011: 328.320
