Is this reasonable of me?

I am in arrears, along with my ex-partner, with NRAM. I have contacted them by phone several times and have always returned their calls. I only have access, however, to an 0845 number for them so I'm getting a little tired of it and its costs a fortune particularly as I only have access to a mobile. I've received a letter asking me to contact them within 48 hours to clarify a matter, even though they have made no efforts to telephone me. It doesn't even tell me what they require clarification about - although I would guess it relates to my ex's wish to voluntarily repossess.
Can I reply in writing stating that I cannot afford to keep calling them from a mobile, but that I am happy to respond to any queries in writing or if they supply a local rate number? They have a income and expenditure form from me (done with CCCS) demonstrating I am on a low income and have no surplus income.

Try www.saynoto0870.com to get the non 0845 number for the same place, perfectly reasonable to say that you do not want to talk to them anymore, some people find this very stressful and prefer to communicate in writing.every time I manage to get one more breath into this body, I will sing a song of thanks to you my brothers, my sisters, my friends, may your sleep be peaceful, and angels sing sweetly in your ears.0

I'm going to have to go bankrupt once the repossession goes through, and had just kind of got used to reading this board and posting the odd question. I didn't really think about it, just assumed as it was related to dealing with creditors there would be a lot of knowledge on this board
I might try that website, thanks tiggerbodhi. Alternatively I might just go writing only rather than trying to deal with them on the phone anymore!0 -
