Looks like they've got good deals just now with landline for £13.99* + unlimited download broadband £4.99 which is a total of £18.98
* you can lower this to £10.49 / month by paying for a year in advance

Hi well done for posting!
Keep 500 in cash for emergencies... then 1000 on Next (highest at 24.9) then CLOSE IT, 500 to MBNA (as one of next highest at 19.9), if you shave 100 off food bill then another 100 on payday then you can pay that off next month and CLOSE IT! 2 down already and moreover 130 monthly towards another one of 19.9% debts wahoo!
Def need to cut down on mobile use - plus points from other posters - you can do this!:rotfl:0 -
I don't see that deal...I see unlimited broadband for £9.99 a month plus £13.99 for line rental plus £4.00 a month for anytime calls. A total of £27.98 a month which is more expensive than Tesco. Introductory discounts and cashback offers excluded. I would not recommend the OP prepay one year of line rental as they could use that money towards paying debts rather than saving a couple of pounds per month.
Which one? The one I have - no, you won't as I got it in May and it's obviously no longer available - you asked what my deal was, and that's it.
Their line rental went up from £9.49 / month to £10.49 / month and the Anytime Calls from £3.49 / month to £4 / month in the past month or so - hence the increase in cost on what I pay
The 3rd offer down on the link I previously gave has unlimited broadband for £4.99
Even without paying the landland in advance for the year, the total is £22.98 / month .... don't know where you're getting £27.98 / month from!
If you pay the landline in advance for the year, it goes down to £10.49 / month (which just about covers the anytime calls option) - I did not recommend the OP do this which is why I left it separate for info ....Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000

You keep on saying everyone shouldbe paying less than £20 a month for internet and phone in several of your posts on here
Errrr where? I simply state thatrising_from_the_ashes wrote: »I pay less than £20 / month for landline & broadband
Which is factually correct and I've provided the breakdown of costswhich is impossible unless the internet is restricted to under 10GB which these days is useless or calls are not added and most people make at least a few calls to justify an extra £4 month on an unlimited option.
Obviously not as my deal is unlimited broadband and includes anytime calls
I'm highlighting the fact that if you shop around, it is possible to get good deals .....
I cannot see how this is helping the OP ...... so we'll leave it there I think!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Thaks everyone for the replies. A few great pointers to get me started. Getting it all down was a start and I'm already feeling positive. Large debts built up as I was seriously ill for 8 months in 2010 and then made redundant earlier this year. Most of the redundancy money was used as a wage until i got a new teaching post in the new term in August.
I agree about the SKY tv subcription - its my hubby's only vice but we are about to cancel it and look at a much cheaper option. My mobile bill is far too high too and isn't due for renewal until June but I will try to negotiate something here too. Two of the barclaycards come off my account the week before payday which is crippling me but they have agreed to change the date so hopefully that will help too.
You're all doing a great job here - keep up the good work!0 -
I notice you haven't included water.im afraid I don't believe you spend a total of £120 a year on gifts, £240 on clothing and nothing on hair cuts. If you have the statements go back over them and categorise the spend so you understand how much you really spend. Also, keep a detailed spending diary from now on.
Do you not have contents insurance or is that included in buildings? Can you eBay anything to pay off some debt and start snowballing?
Good luck.I'm a qualified accountant but please make sure you get expert advice as any opinion is made in a private capacity.
