I take it its from a bank down south which might extend the time a bit.
Does sound weird though that its going to take six weeks? :eek:0 -
yeah paul..his bank is in belfast..the cheque is from alied irish bank down south...but i cant work out why they would say they dont normally accept cheques into student account..what makes a student account different from an adult account ie accepting a cheque..i was going to ring bank of ireland this morning but i know i would only end up giving them a mouthful  but son said its his account and im not to embarress him0

I'm with the BOI for my business account and they can have a stick up their !!! over certain things. You didnt ask for the manager, see what he says? Or what about ringing their customer service number?0 -
lol paul..i was def going to but i know i would end up shouting down the phone at them..and to top it all they rang to say to has to go back down today as he didnt sign the back of the cheque....bloody bank didnt ask him to sign it...according to them it was sent god knows where and it is been returned to them this morning..at this rate he would be better getting a train to dublin or something and cashing the cheque in an aib bank0
