Cheap Oats So Simple Tesco

My local Tesco extra (Martlesham) had a whole load of Oats So Simple in the RTC section with no prices on, got a lad to check it for me and the Fudge ones were down to 57p a box and the 'posh' ones, white choc& raspberry/ caramel, were 67p a box. Can't see either on their website so must be end of line.
This was at 10pm tonight and there were several boxes left on the shelf.
Use by date is in September 2013.

How different is Oats So Simple different from normal oats, say Lidls 39p for 500g.?
  • They're flavoured and a lot finer so they take less time to cook. It's all a matter of taste and convenience.
  • Also they've got a picture of a bear on the front which is very helpful when trying to get a 3 and a half year old to eat her breakfast!

The Lidl package is quite colourful. It has picture of a bowl and a spoon and an apple. The fibre content is 10.0g and protein is 13.5, both per 100g.
    How does that compare.

Slightly off-topic, but I bought stacks of Oat-so-Simple on offer years ago, and have only just got round to finishing it. The expiry date was 12/2005 and they were fine - I'm not sure an open pack of oats would have last quite as long though.

Also, for those that like their porridge fine-milled, Jordans oat cereal is available from the 99p shop atm (750g).
