We went - I was hoping for more of a build up - there's a windy cattle-pen type path to line up in, with screens and singing elves and a fantastic globe thing to play with, and then you're straight into Santa. We spent about 5 minutes with him and he was very, very lovely. They did get my daughter's name wrong - but he covered it up very well and she was completely besotted with him. He said, OH, so you're {NAME] who's three and lives in [TOWN]? Are you the same NAME from TOWN who was two last year? And she was all wide eyed and open mouthed.
Outside we also met Mrs Claus and the Sugar Plum Fairy. I don't know if the vouchers were only for cardholders, but you can't spend them on the photos so we bought a tree ornament. Oh, also, ask if you can see the picture before they send it to the printer, ours wasn't brilliant and the printers can't edit.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Neighbour's daughter took grandkids recently. Apparently it's really nice. They also made a side-trip (within Harrods) to some "Cinderella shoe department"... recommended for everything except your wallet! lol0

I took my daughter to the santa at westfeilds as harrods was fully booked. They show you the photo before its printed, she had her eyes closed in her picture so they sent her back in to see santa and have the photo taken again. He was really nice. There were a few childen in at a time he shook all their hands and asked what they wanted then they each had a photo taken. Before seeing him there was a 3d film she liked it.0

Couldn't fault it. Everyone was kind and chatty. Ten minute wait. Only thing was that I would rather pay and kids get a gift. Small book, badge and chocolat didn't quite do it for the grandchildren but that's because we spoil them. Lol.0

You could also pay a visit on 4th floor to the pet department. Last week they had very cute poodle pups for sale enclosed behind a windowed pen. Think it said they were getting shih-tzus in next week. Just dont look at the very harrods- like prices of said pups! We also have a mooch around the pet boutique, much fun. Think this is on the same floor as grotto and cinderella shoe trying on dept.Moneysaving? - I cant stop spending because of this site!0

I took the kids a couple of years ago when it was the wizard of oz theme and i must admit i was very dissapointed, they got a chocolate coin and a book between 3 of them which if they were from the same family would of been ok but they were cousins. I expected (silly of me i know) aminated characters on the way to see Father Christmas but all it was were pages of books to read.
Where I live every year the local Boyes stores puts makes a fantastic grotto on with animated characters, which in my opinion is much better than the Harrods one.
As i child i have such fond memories of visiting the Boyes grotto, one year i honestly thought i was being taken by sleigh to the north pole to see Father Christmas.0
