Delia classic Christmas cake help!

Just about to make my delia Christmas cake - late I know! And I'm having a complete mind block on what I have done previous years! The recipe calls for soft brown sugar - is this dark brown or light brown sugar?! Can't remember what I have done for the last few years! I have both of the sugars so it doesn't mean I have to buy any different sugar. I would hate to ruin the Christmas cake by putting in the wrong sugar as they're not the cheapest to make!
Thanks to anyone who can save the day!

I put light sugar in mine and it looks like a normal Christmas cake so far

Just marzipanned mine actually, must have the self control not to ice it in the next few days! smells delish
Despite the name, I'm actually a laydee!0 -
I've used both or either depending on what I have in - don't worry, not a chance you will ruin it by the type of sugar you put in!

I also leave out the candied peel and add loads more glac! cherries. I replace some of the dried fruit with dried cranberries and add way more booze than it calls for...and I use a mixture of cherry brandy and ordinary brandy
It is a very forgiving recipe...it will be grand
