I do more parsnips and potatoes than you cna imagine possible. I reckon at least pieces of potato 6 per person and usually work on 8 - though dd will only eat 2/3 donating her share to daddy. Parsnips 2 raw per person -, carrots the same and sprouts about 3/4 per person generally get eaten but I cook more as they can me made in festive bubble and squeak!

I'm doing 24 pigs in blankets for 6 of us and worrying that won't be enough due to OH!

I allow 1.5 parsnips per person (ie 6 chunks), and 8 sprouts per person.

I can't stand cooked carrots, but would say 12 sticks per person.

    6 roast spuds per person.

At least 340g of stuffing mix for 6 - 8 adults, the pack says different, but we don't do polite portions here. Always liven it up by crushing 1 or 2 garlic cloves into it.

    For mulled wine...

Stick some cloves in an orange. Put it in a pan with a cinnamon stick, red wine and a bit of sugar. Warm the wine, add a splash of brandy if desired, fish out the orange and cinnamon and serve.

Depending on what is in your stock cupboard already, might be cheaper than the sainsburys spices .
