Yes Jennifer - you are correct 2013/14 it is now - seems to be a new thing. I have a hard copy of the return from last week where it definitely ays 2014/15.

If you have not paid enough tax

If you are submitting by 30 December, owe tax for 2011-12 and have a PAYE tax code, do you want us to try to collect the tax due (if less than £3,000) through your tax code for 2013-14?* helpIcon.gif
If you are likely to owe tax for 2012-13 on income other than employed earnings or pensions, do you want us to use your 2012-13 PAYE tax code to collect that tax during the year?* helpIcon.gif

hubb.....if you have no employment with a code number, HMRC cannot use a code number to collect your tax. The filing deadline for those who do, and want to pay that way is 30th December.

You seem to have been self employed for several years, and filing returns, you are correct that the deadline to file AND PAY for TY 2011/12 is January 31st 2013.

How much are you expecting your balancing payment (amount of tax to pay) to be? Are you aware that if it is over £1000 you will also have to make payments on account for TY 2012/13? These will each be half of what you are due to pay by 31st January, the first will also be due by 31st January, the second by 31st July.
