Hi guys
So looking for a nice bottle of sparkling wine for Christmas day for me and the OH. Not champagne.
Looking to spend about £30 and happy with either rose or white.
Any recommendations. Ideally like to try an English one but so much choice I am not sure what to choose.
Cheers

I saw this offer in the Telegraph at the weekend,
"15 PER CENT OFF HIGHGROVE ENGLISH SPARKLING WINE
Readers can claim an exclusive discount on a 12-bottle case of Highgrove English Sparkling Wine (RRP £26.50/bottle). To claim, call the Fortnum & Mason wine dept on 020 7973 4136 and quote “Sunday Telegraph Offer”or redeem in store, quoting “Sunday Telegraph” at the check out when making your purchase. Offer valid until December 24 2012 and subject to availability. To ensure delivery before Christmas, orders must be placed by December 19. Standard UK delivery included."
I can't vouch for this particular wine, but I've often followed their recommendations and been pleasantly surprised.

Also,
2007 Laithwaites Theale Vineyard Chardonnay Berkshire, England. £31, Laithwaites. Perfect for Christmas Day drinks. English wine got a shot in the arm from the Jubilee and Olympics. There is no need to buy it out of patriotic fervour; these wines easily hold their own. This is all cream and lemon peel, typical of chardonnay, but also with toasted brioche and spice adding an admirable degree of complexity.0 -
