Nationwide First Time Buyer

Hi All,
First time poster and hoping for some advice.
I am looking to purchase a new build property and have reserved the buildig plot with a £1,000 deposit. We have a mortage offer in Principle from Nationwice and submitted the mortage application on 10th December.
I have to addmit the wait is killing me, I went through a mortgage advisor which I think was a good decision however i am finding that they dont appeat to be too helpful at this stage. I called them on Friday for an update to be told they need a reference from my Landlord / Managing agent and the valuation has been completed and with Nationwide for review. I called the Managing agent to see if they recieved the reference request and they havent - So I emailed the agent but got no response.
I then called the mortgage advisor's admin team for an update this morning to be given quite a cold response "I will deal with it when I get a chance". I have subsequntly emailed the advisors again and not had a response.
Am I being too pushy with the mortgage advisors given the application has been in for 1 week or should I keep pushing for an update? We want to get a decision before Christmas as I dont think our nerves will last the Christmas break.
Would be gratful for any advice.

No advice but hope you hear soon. Our valuation was done over 3 weeks ago and we've still heard nothing. It's horrid but Nationwide are notorious for taking ages. Good luck!0

When I finish an application filling session with my clients I tell them I'll submit the application immediately but they should expect it to go quiet for the next couple of weeks while the initial checks, valuation and referencing are done.
The pre-Christmas completions will be done by Friday and then the solicitors will all be shut until January. This gives lenders an opportunity to clear any backlogs which have built up in applications and to progress more cases through to offer.I am a mortgage broker. If you were my customer, I'd appreciate you using your initiative and chasing up things yourself.
It takes teamwork between the broker and the client to get an offer out of a lender these days.
With Nationwide, 90% of it is passing the credit score, so if you know all the things they subsequently ask for are in order, there is no reason whatsoever to not expect an offer.... as long as there is no problem with the survey of course)
