Very Odd Tesco Grocery Site Problem .

I know there are lots of you who use Grocery Shopping so I wondered if anyone has had this sort of experience. Apologies for a long post but it's how I worded it in a letter to Tesco HQ .What happened was with my usual Tesco account and also with a new one after Tesco Techies suggesting deleting my old account and creating a new one .This happended some months ago as well and it seemed to have gone away but now it is back .
I started an order at the weekend and selected some items adding the number of the items that I wanted .These were placed in “ My Basket” but the system mysteriously altered the number to ridiculous figures ,usually 99 and a note appeared saying I had reached the maximum number I was able to order . The Total Cost obviously changed to reflect the number of items shown as having been ordered . Altering the number ,either by using the MINUS sign or doing it manually had little effect ,it simply returning to the incorrect number .
I was using my PC but I also tried it on my Laptop ( wirelessly connecting to my Router) ,on my iPhone both using Safari Browser ( again via my Router by Wireless) and using the Tesco App…the problem exhibited itself on each of these .
To eliminate my own hardware devices I signed out of my Tesco Account ,cleared the Cache and Cookies ( as I had done before on more than one occasion) and connected an Orange Dongle to my Laptop . This has absolutely no involvement with my Broadband Connection in my home nor to my hardware devices but again the problem was evident so would suggest the problem is with your website .

A further problem arose when I did try to Checkout having managed to get the order to sensible amounts ..Verified By Visa using the CORRECT Password returned me to the checkout page with the message showing” Sorry there seems to be a problem/please check your details below/Failed to create order payment items “ The Card Number and details were correct and the VbyV Password was also correct but I called Santander who suggested that my password WAS wrong and said to create a new one so I went along with this and tried again using ABSOLUTELY the correct Password but again the payment was rejected .

At this point I just gave up ,went to Asda.com ,created a minimum order of £25 entered the same Card Details and VbyV Password and payment went through immediately with no problem as I expected as I have never had this problem with Asda and nor with Sainsbury or any other online purchases .

    Run a virus checknon your pc also running spybot may help.

    Done that and Malwarebytes too.and Trend Housecall ..nothing found ...anyway it does it on three devices PC,Laptop and iPhone PLUS my Orange Dongle
  • Molley I have had the same problems with payment. Straight after entering my password it would throw me back to the checkout page stating the card was invalid!

    I must say though your comment has repeated a few times, maybe there is a problem with your connection?

  • I gave up shopping with Tesco online due to the fact that I could never get my payment to go through. If you ring the Tesco techies they just tell you to clear the cache and cookies but this makes no difference whatsoever.

    Yeah that was the first thing I was told to do ..made no difference .
    Also when they cancelled my "OLD" account I assumed that the order I managed to pay for before this nonsense started would also be cancelled ....WRONG .Got a Text Message this AM to say it was being delivered tomorrow ..I cant cancel it as I no longer have access to that account so I hope I can get them to do it otherwise the driver will be taking it back .
    Someone called me this morning about an e-mail with screencaps I sent them yesterday ..He is supposed to be calling back but he is already over an hour late .
