Do I have to let the NIE man in?
Comments
-
Last week, the NIE man let himself into my house! I was unwell in bed and had unlocked the door for my DD to let herself in after school, and went to bathroom. Doorbell rung over and over and I was um...not being well in the bathroom. Then I heard the door open and I shouted "Hi (DDs name) - in bathroom" and a mans voice shouted back! I was so stunned I didnt actually say anything but I wish I had of now. I wrote a letter of complaint this am but havent sent it yet. Id rather submit my reading online and if thats possible I think Ill edit the letter to include that.0

Definitely send a letter of complaint! How dare he open your front door without permission - whatever happened to basic manners0

.....That right extends to entry without your permission if you are not at home and there is a problem with the power supply although I don't think I've ever heard of them doing that..
I have! Used to live in a shared house, one of my flatmates ignored several letters from NIE and we came home one day to find a locked door kicked in and the meter replaced with a prepay meter. It does happen :mad:0
