  • That's another lot of ebay parcels posted, with the costs tallied profit added up it means another £18-04 added to my total this month which now stands at £105 exactly (which is a miracle with all the odd profits from ebay after fees)

I'm so pleased I've hit my £100 target with another 10days of selling to go. Am going to have a listing night the week and get at least another 10 items on the go. As I said before I'm saving all my sale money towards Christmas so this is my f-i-l and dad's pressies money in the pot already

Still got snow on the ground here and it's cold. My heating if off (to save money and sitting typing isn't keeping me warm. Am now off to finish my housework and plan the next stack of junk to go!

  • Had a surprise sale on amazon last night so another £7-81 to add to the Christmas pot today. Am starting to thik I should set a higher target now so I'm aiming for £150 this month. Need to get some pics done and things on ebay or I won't have a chance in hell. The junk isn't going to fly out the cuboards on it's own. Need a kick up the bum and keep going lol! Total made is £112.81 so the £150 is easily in reach if I get organised. Nothing more to add today apart from sticking to budget eating up tins and being really good. Snow certainly helps! x

  • Some more great news in my quest for extra cash. I took a pile of clothes to my local dress agency before Christmas and I thought I'd give them a call to see if anything had sold. They said I've got £35-27 hold on my account so am going to pop and collect it later to add it to my xmas pot. So close to the £150 target now, should really increase the target but am going to leave it for now, but I would be chuffed to bits if I could hit £200! Need to get ebaying then! x

    New total for Jan £148-08

  • Well as Jan is coming to a close I've been very proactive and hopefully kicked off Feb's money making. It was a free listing weekend on ebay so I certainly made the most of it and got 80 things on there. Most are little niff naff bits which should be easy to post if sold.

Did think this morning, i hope it doesn't all sell as I'm going to be a very busy buny wrapping lol! The auctions all finish next weekend so these will be in Feb's total. I do like the fact once you've got something listed, it's easy to relist with the click of a button. If things don't sell, will have another go on the next free listing weekend. The hard work has been done and I'm sure these things will bring a few pounds over the next couple of months.

Only had a little £5 sale from gumtree for a kids toy too big for ebay, but it's till £5. I think I've sold £6 of other toys too, but the man who wants them is in hospital so he's asked me to keep them a few days. Not sure if he's a time waster, but we'll see.

Am looking forward to my final tally for Jan at the end of the month. It's a great feeling knowing that I've already made £153-08 from bits and bobs cluttering up our lives. I'm on the right track for a cracking Christmas without any credit for the first time ever!

  • Wow, that's me surprised he turned up for the toys and gave me another £1-25 with the £6 we'd agreed. Total now standing at £160.33 for Jan and I think that's going to be my total. I did have 7items on ebay that finished last night, but nothing sold.

Feb is looking great too! Out of the items finishing next weekend I've got over £50 i sales already. Think the £100 target is too easy so my new target is just to beat Jan so I've got a extra £110 to make. With as many things listed this week I'm hoping it'll be easy. I'm not going to put anything else on ebay (unless free listing) as the children are are on holiday and I'm all e-bayed out at the mo.

Hope everyone else is motivated, decluttering and making some cash. Roll on payday looking forward to another chuck going off the0% card!

House is starting to look a lot tidier with the toys and bits gone. The kids have tidied their room and given me more stuff to sell. Poor dogs keep looking at me as though their going to be next lol! x

  • So pay day here again :-) Offical figure for extra money made in jan is £160.33 which I'm delighted with.

Have been playing around with numbers last night and come up with a new 6month plan! I've paid another chunk of my virgin card which is 0% until December and this takes it down to a lovely round £1800.

Our zopa loan after this months payment will be £4909.98 and it got me thinking about setting a target to pay these off finally using August's pay. So that's what I'm going to do. It's pointless snowballing as credit card at 0% and zopa fixed interest. Means we've got to pay £869.48 to zopa / £300 to virgin. Should leave us around the £600 mark to try and build up some savings as well.

It does worry me that we live month to month and have nothing in bank for a rainy day. We've always use credit when the car broke or dental fee for me.

The plan is then to save towards paying the car off. It's 0% for life so not in a great rush and have decided to save the money but will probably let the loan run it's course. It's £302 a month which won't break the bank, but it would be nice to get the balance together in an account just in case we do see our dream house. I don't want to be applying for a mortgage in a couple of years with this hanging over us. Makes sense to me and it's getting into a habit of saving again!

  • After having a few days to sit and plan our money again (with hubby) we've decided the 6month plan is going to change slightly! We've just opened one of the santander 123 accounts and plan to use that to save the 'spare' every month. The credit card is 0% so will plan to keep paying the minimum every month to get the bonus of the extra % in the saving account. The same with zopa, the interest has already been charged so what's the ruch paying it back so other people can get their money back and relend it! We're going to keep saving and let the loan run. If we decide to look at houses/ mortgages we'll have the money in the bank to clear the loan, but it;ll having been earning 3% while it's sat there. It's only 3% from 3K so next month is a nil spending month to get a massive chunk in there!

Ebay update - I've had a nightmare ebay weekend with 30 sellings, so I've been busy wrapping and parcelling like it's going out of fashion! I've still got 2 items to be paid for, but everything else it's on it's way. All the hard work was worth it as I've made a whopping £332.36 so far in Feb! I knew my £100 target was low, but I've doubled what I made in Jan already so I'm a happy bunny! Will be trying to sell locally on gumtree and facebook selling sites to get rid of the larger toys etc to go. I know it's wrong, but after so much hard work on ebay I'm going to take my foot on the gas a little and enjoy half term with the kids!

  • Finally got payment for my last 2 ebay items (grrrr I hate people who take days to pay!) and that brings my total for Feb upto 349.04. I do hae a lady supposed to be collecting a child chair tonight for £8 and my friend is picking up a storage thing for £10. I think I owe her some money for some children's clothes so we need to work out the difference she owes me. Am sticking to my no more selling this month, unless ebay do a free listing in which case I've got 50+ items to hit the relist button on! I know it's lazy but am trying to gte the house upto date before half term hits. Keep your finger's crossed chair lady turns up and friend collects too! Will update i my sticky little fingers get any cash later lol! x

  • Not posted for a while but made use of the free ebay listing weekend and made extactly £48 after fees and postage, but am still waiting on another buyer to pay! You always get one who takes ages to pay.

These sales take my total for FEB to £412.04 and the chair woman still hasn't turned up! I'll only be listing more things this month if there's another free weekend as don't have the time over the next couple of weeks to photo and list things. I do love the relist function on ebay especially when it lets me do it on a free weekend!

On another note I've discovered that the zopa loan isn't a fix interest and the quicker we pay it off the better.

    Our new plan is :
    - pay off Zopa leaves and extra £153 a month to add to savings
    - then save like mad until Decemeber when the credit card 0% deal finishes and then use saving to pay the outstanding balance (£1798 today) so will keep paying the min £25 in the meantime.
    - keep saving like mad (ignore the 0% car loan) and keep stacking up the pounds.

    That's the plan :-)
