Do you have a degree in theology then ?
  • I do, but in fact most Lay Preachers don't.
  • Two cats left today to a great home. Bad news, one I rehomed a couple of weeks ago came back. O well.

Thanks for the info about Preachers I wasn't aware, I would've thought that every preacher would've needed a theology degree
  • The lack of Biblical literacy of some is truly alarming - but that applies also to some ordained ministers. I have met more than one ordained minister who has not read the entire Bible (would you teach Lord of the Rings if you hadn't actually read it?) and Lay preachers who seem not to have read quite major parts of it. I find that quite bizarre but it seems in many cases as long as they meet the present (usually trendy) demands of their denomination they get through. Meanwhile some who are very committed but not trendy are rejected. Then the churches wonder why they are in decline.

I would imagine that the would deff be part of the reason churches and religion as a whole are in decline, I also imagine there are many more reasons also :)

I don't understand why you are continuing to breed kittens. By your calculations you are projecting around £14800 a year, assuming no disasters. However, you say that it's costing you nearly £9.5k a year to keep them, and I presume that doesn't include vet's fees, and you appear to have had lots of health problems with your cats. You initially didn't even know how many you had, so I think you should probably concentrate on getting down to a manageable number of cats, rather than trying to create a living from getting more and more cats.

I'm not a great lover of cats kept in pens. Cats need companionship and a bit of love too, and I would question whether you can spend time with each of the cats to provide this. Are your cats insured? I would suspect not, and, as I'm sure you know, that's a recipe for financial disaster with so many cats.

Rehome your kittens, neuter and rehome your adult cats, and settle for living happily with 2 or 3. Your financial health will improve in leaps and bounds and I think the cats will be happier too.
  • It has been an abnormally bad year and I am indeed trying to reduce numbers.

Stud cats have to live in pens because they spray everywhere and fight with each other. This is normal practice. I have eight pens but only four stud cats, the other pens are rather useful for isolating cats when needed but only the studs live outside permanently.
  • £80 extra paid off Barclaycard today - £10 speaking fee, £65 from my parents for Christmas, rounded up to £80. It does feel good to be able to pay off more than the minimum, just hope I don't need to take any of these payments back again. Vet is paid up to date, two weeks supply of Royal Canin in stock, need to get wet food (miscalculated there), business bills paid up to date except for current month, electricity bill paid (which husband has ignored until getting the "pay up or else" bill, some items on the way from our main supplier have already been paid for. Thanks to that PPI payment we really have been able to catch up.
