Good European food delivered

Hi all,
I have recently moved to Germany and I have found that overall people are not as good at money saving or making, so hats off to the money savers!
What i am missing is some good quality produce from Europe - German food supermarkets leave a lot to be desired. I am therefore looking for online stores that deliver proper French,Italian, Spanish or English brands to Germany or Europe. It's not just about saving money but getting the best possible products that exist in each country so I can get a stock of sauces herbs and dried produce.
Any recommendations?

Hmm.. we were having a discussion yesterday on the Organic Food in Supermarkets thread about the German supermarket chain Aldi which sells own brand organic food in Germany and USA but not UK.
bornintoit posted up their German website and the prices for organic butter were way cheaper than even non-organic in UK.
So my first suggestion is to look for organic (bio) as it will be additive free and is more likely to be grown/reared with care. The other German supermarket chain Lidl, does have a small organic range in UK and may do same in Germany.
Germans are the biggest consumers of organic food in Europe and will be hosting the world organic trade fair in Nuremburg in February www.biofach.de/en for English pages
I can think of lots of stores in London which sell European food by mail order in the UK but few which ship to Europe.
Fauchon, the French food emporium www.fauchon.com/en
www.sverigeonline.se definitely exports Swedish food to Germany as you can look at pages in German.
Fortnum and Mason www.fortnumandmason.com
Selfridges www.selfridges.com does international orders by phone not on the website
Harrods www.harrods.com
For stuff like Weetabix I'd suggest trying Amazon www.amazon.co.uk buying in bulk because those shops which send PG Tips etc are horribly expensive.0 -

Well, I must have been asleep longer than I thought, since when was Germany moved to another continent? I bet it's the Americans who stole if from us, I knew there was a sparkle in Obama's eye last time he met Merkel

Yeah they are pretty crazy about the bio over here. It's still expensive but you are right not as vastly more expensive. I find it hard to pick up some simple but good quality basics as I find rice and pasta to be expensive and not good quality. They don't seem to go in for mega supermarkets over here it's more like metros and aldi everywhere.0

Aldi in Germany has cheaper prices than Aldi in UK. However, there's not much you can do about the style of shops other than seek out bargains.
For rice, I woild suggest looking for ethnic food shops - there are several generations of Turkish immigrants in Germany.0
