  • To be honest I'm not a very fussy person and I am open to attempting to cook anything, I just need some ideas and some basic recipes to start off with.

I do like a lot of pasta though

Fry a chopped onion in olive oil on medium heat. Add some parsley. Cook til the onion - stirring often - until it goes clear. Add a carton of creamed tomatoes, half a stock cube, some salt and pepper [to taste] and some water [to rinse the carton out] Simmer about 10 mins.

Meanwhile, boil 80g pasta in hot water til al dente. Drain and toss into the tomato sauce. Taste and season more if necessary.

Pour into a dish and sprinkle on mature cheddar or Parmesan. Eat.

Well done, that's the main method for cooking most sauce dishes. Add more veg and mince as you feel fit, and different spices to the cooked veg/meat to make different dishes. It all starts with an onion.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
