Wii help, what do I need so we can play at the same time?

Hi, I've brought a wii game which people can play/compete at the same time but I don't know what I need for multiples to play, is it a remote I need more of (the thing you use to play we only have one of) or does it have a different name? Where do people tend to get them from? I'm clueless! Thanks

  • you need at least 2 controllers
but depending what kind of game it is you may need the nunchuck as well (if you need nunchucks, you need 2 of those too)
and its prudent to get a docking station as well to charge the remotes

look around for deals, no one place is best, lots of deals around just now

I don't know if it's the same now, but when my parents bought my sister a Wii it was cheaper to buy Wii Play (lots of little games, like billiards, shooting and that sort of thing) which came with a free Wii Remote than it was to buy the remote itself, so it's worth keeping an eye out for deals like that!

I agree with both other posters - we found that some games which included controllers were cheaper to buy than the controllers themselves - Argos often has good prices but there will be several deals about, I'm sure.

Just before we got ours, I found a steering wheel, a gun & controller-holder-case in Poundland. I wasn't sure whether we would use them but bought them, just in case. The case was particularly useful as it has a wrist strap & one of the controllers we bought didn't.

I’ve got 2d Wii remote from “cash generate” shop just for 8 or 9pounds, used one. They had several at that time. One I’ve got didn’t work and they exchanged it, actually, for newer looking one :). If you have shops like that around – ask them. But make sure they will exchange if it doesn’t work and keep the receipt.
  • They can be really expensive, I bought one recently from Game, for £9.99 (just their own brand basic one) and it came with a nunchuck, strap and silicone strap. Think they're even cheaper now the wii u is being launched... Works fine :)

As a previous poster has said you could buy "wii play" which came with a free remote, and I think nowadays you can get remotes with wii sports resort too, though I could be wrong. Hope this helps!
