Thanks you all - sorry for not responding sooner - just come in from work.
I'm glad you all didn't shout "do the highest apr first!" and that there was quite a bit of support for the psychological approach. I'm not too sure which to tackle just yet but I'm in the process of seeking out LOB's and 0% trfrs at the moment, but in answer to ?Shineyhappy's question, here are my figures:-
Northern Rock Loan £14,000 5.3% over 10 years, probably about £12.5k now
IF CC £3,000 @ 4.95% LOB
A&L CC @ stupid % - looking for a 0% tomorrow - any suggestions? thinking about Barclaycard in-branch application to avoid trfr fee or HSBC
O/d 1 £900 (Sole A/c) - successfully reclaimed £694 bank charges - awaiting receipt of funds
O/d 2 £450 (Jnt A/c)
DFS Sofa - £2k @ 0% over 4 years
What do you reckon? No quick hits to be made so am thinking of attacking A&L if I can't find a suitable trfr and will have possibly £250 chunk targets per Crown's suggestion.
I had a look at whatsthecost over the weekend - pretty inspiring stuff!

We've been doing it by concentrating on one, throwing everything extra at one debt whilst paying the minimum on everything else. Keeps us motivated plus we had a lot of seperate creditors as you can see from my sig.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

OMG! IA has replied to my thread - I am soooooo chuffed and honoured! One of your threads was the very first I looked at on MSE and I was completely inspired to sort myself out. You are doing such a fantastic job!
My plan of attack is to concentrate on just one with min payments on the rest.
Although I gather I'm a bit older than you, I think I'm in a similar boat - I have 2 young kids, low income so can I please ask how you've managed to do it so diligently and quickly. Any top tips would be appreciated.Decluttering junk and debt in 2016
