i got a cheap one in b and q last year it turned into a joke as it only lasted few days one morning we came down to rather a lot of needles on the floor i touched the tree and i swear the rest came down like a shower. Basically you get what you pay for.0

If you have a look in your local newspaper, or ask your friends on facebook - they might have a voucher for money off a real tree. Here in Lincolnshire there are a few vouchers that have been circulating for money off a real tree.Trying to save up for a deposit for a mortgage....could be a while!!
Comping since 15/06/2014 - thanks to all those who post the competitions ❤️😀0 -

B&Q for me. Twenty five pounds and so big we had to cut the top off to get it in the living room (looks a bit odd now). I suspect late on today/ tomorrow trees will be half price at a lot of places.
I've noticed that, in terms of artificial trees, elegantly lit bare (plastic) branches are quite the thing this year. It occurs that if you wanted a really MSE solution you could simply go out and cut down a suitably spindly tree branch, strategically apply a bit of white emulsion and drape over some el-cheapo lights. I would have followed my own advice and done this myself - problem is I have zero artistic ability so the result would probably have looked like a car-crash (plus white emulsion over everything).:eek:0 -
B&Q for me too - got a medium sized one 2 days ago for half price (£15). Lovely dark green colour, dense and smells gorgeous. I've got it in one of those stands that you fill up every couple of days with water (the trees really seem to take up a lot of it !) It's a Nordman Fir too so shouldn't drop too many needles ...
Hope you've managed to bag a bargain too.
