Northern Rock - Unsecured loan Issue

Options
I am in need of some help, advice, just anything :(

I was prevously on a mortgage with Northern Rock that had an unsecured loan of £20,000.00 attached to it.

I broke up with my partner and he agreed to take over the payments. He found someone else to take my place on both the mortgage and unsecured loan.

Northern Rock confirmed I had been released from both parts in April of this year.

I was having trouble obtaining credit later in the year and accessed my credit history via Credit Expert (July Roughly) to discover the unsecured loan was still showing as active against me.

I went through the complaints proceedure wit Northern Rock who confirmed the error, advised it wold be corrected and gave me compenstation of £100.00 - I was just happy to have my records amended.

I then had further trouble obtaining credit in September, and discovered that yet again the unsecured loan had re-appeared on my credit history. This time I spoke directly with Credit Expert who again confirmed via Northern Rock that the matter had bee sorted and my file updated correctly.

The loan was removed for a few weeks but then re-appeared again. This time I contacted the FOS in order to get the matter rectified.

I am currently sent speaking wih the FOS. Northern Rock have advised that the loan keeps appearing due to a system problem and have given no time frame to when it may be fixed and the Ombudsman has advised tha there does appear to be litte they can do to intervene in this kind of matter other than request compenstation. While any compenstation will be welcomed, I am left not being able to get the smallest amount of credit.

I am exhausting from the fight to get this sorting and no one is willing to help fix the problem.

I am just wondering if anyone has any advice on what I can possibly do or who I can contact?

I a afraid to keep applying for credit to be declined as this will also start to mount up against me on my credit history.
