Getting the Xmas sale difference back on an item bought at full price

I've been considering buying an item from Allsaints but they've put the price up! I can't believe they've done this but I wonder if it is so they can put it in the Xmas sale at a 'large' discount. How long does it have to be at the new price for to do that?
Could I buy the item a day before Christmas and if the price dropped by the time I received it, do you think they'd refund me the difference? I know it's a bit cheeky but, then again, so is putting the price of an item up!
