will John Lewis price match themselves?

My laptop has just conked it (5.5 years, so probably due) and I need one to replace it rather sharpish for uni work. John Lewis state on their website that they'll price match for prices upto 28 days after purchase. So I was wondering if people have ever used this to buy an item then claim price match when John Lewis sale starts? I know it's cheeky, and there's no guarantee of getting the best bargain from the sale, but what do you reckon?
