I have been receiving letters from a company called LCS for debt not in my name I have just received a final demand the only reason I opened the letters was because the name is similiar to mine. I have sent the letters back not known at this address. I have rang them twice and according to them the debt is my sons from the address where the debt originated where is all this coming from my son is 27 and has always lived at home until last week when he moved into his own house. The debt is Scottish Power for £48. I do not know what to do any advice am I doing the right thing returning the letters after all they are not in my name.

Dear Mr X,
Please note that I do not admit ANY debt to your company.
You have sent several letters to my address, demanding money you claim is apparently owed by my son, in relation to an account at the following address: XXX.
I can confirm that he has never lived at the above address, that no member of my family has ever lived at the above address, and that my son was living with me at my home address ( YOUR HOME ADDRESS) during the period you claim. My son has never entered into contract with Scottish Power.
It seems that there is no further reason to contact me, and I ask that you stop processing my data and my sons data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
I also ask that if you have distributed my data to any third party such a credit agency, you correct any incorrect information as a matter of urgency,
Yours Sincerly,
XXX. (your signature)
