Hello and welcome polkadot
I look forward to reading about your progress - and echo GG in that targets should be stretching!

Thanks greent and gally girl - you are absolutely right targets should not be easy

Feeling a bit frustrated waiting for pay day on Friday which is when I can next put some money into the loan pot. So doing some MFW type things to tide me over tonight including:-- Batch cooking some chilli con carne for the freezer
- Colouring my own hair (used to pay a fortune for my blond locks but now use Perfect 10 by Clairol - can highly recommend
) - Doing an Amazon trade in on some random books/computer games that we don't need. I like the ease of this - postage paid on the parcel by Amazon and one trip to the post office. I will then keep the amazon gift funds in my account for b'day pressies throughout the year.
And I should tackle the never ending washing pile but that is just too boring...and there is no financial benefit :rotfl:
Take care

£200 added to the loan pot, that is all we can manage this side of Christmas.
We also have road tax due on both cars but I have been saving throughout year for this and have the money set aside.
In non mortgage related news our labrador puppy arrived on Friday and she is keeping me busy. Amazing when you are up before 6am how much you can accomplish! I am hoping all the free exercise will kind of add to my mortgage free goal :rotfl: She is very docile and sweet natured and no whimpering at night so think I have escaped lightly hearing other people's nightmares of the early days!

Ohh that was a good read:D.
I'm IO too, no option at the moment and like you even when it is an option i'd just do manual OPs and enjoy the thrill of seeing what the effect is!
My only fear is the banks withdrawing the IO mortgage and forcing the issue, but we'll cross that bridge when and if it comes.
Is it an old house you have now? Ours is which means constant hiccups as things wear out etc. Still prefer old houses, although i have new house envy with insulation, lack of draughts and no dust:eek:.

Thanks Polly Wolly for subscribing - I need all the encouragement I can get :rotfl:
My house isn't that old - about 30 years, but it was in a real state when we bought it. It's not a mansion either despite the mortgage size!! We live in the South East in a commuter town although we don't commute (it's where me and Mr PD grew up) and prices have escalated beyond reason
We did think lots about moving to a more affordable area but my eldest has a statement of special educational needs and I couldn't guarantee the same placement for him in another county. I also do love where we live despite the fact we don't get much for our money.Mortgage 14/12/2012 - £309865

Well we have survived xmas :T
Puppy is still adorable, but very sleepy today after all the festivities.
Signature updated - have added to loan pot:-- £301.60 Loan scheduled repayment which has left bank account today
- £2.42 Account Tidy
- £100 Christmas Gift (won't tell Granny what her generous gift is going towards!)
Most annoyingly I have also lost a cheque for £100  that I am really frustrated about. Today will be a massive search for the missing funds as I am sure you know where they will be heading. What is the etiquette here, I am thinking I can't ask for another one can I if it is a gift? So embarrassing
Today will be about recovering from Xmas, continuing to housetrain puppy, crafting with kids (Mr PD is building a pirate ship as we speak bless him :A). Off to make some turkey sandwiches.....
Hope everyone had a wonderful xmas

If you don't find the cheque, you've got the perfect 'the puppy ate it' excuse!
I'm afraid i'd ask, very politely, for a replacement, but only you'll know if that will be acceptable:D.
Yes i can imagine how horrendous the house prices will be where you are but good fun doing up an older house:cool:!Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs

Missing £100 cheque was found this afternoon by Mr PD :T .....in the toaster of all places :rotfl:
I am relieved and have added the £100 onto my signature.
In other MFW news today I have:-- meal planned for the first time in ages and been shopping. £57 spent!! I usually spend at least £125 so this is wonderful. Got lots of meat including 2 huge roast pork joints for half price.
- Found £10 note in the washing machine which we have agreed will go towards our New Year Chinese Takeaway we are hosting. Every little helps!
- Made a dog bed from a vintage Witney wool blanket that I inherited from my Granny. I knew it would come in useful, and it looks like something you'd pay £60 for on notonthehighstreet. It cost me zilch! And it looks much more stylish than the Ben10 blanket we were using previously.
I am supposed to be sat here loading some things onto ebay, but struggling with good quality pictures with no light. May leave this until tomorrow.
