Can't use the voucher I bought

I bought a beauty treatment from a voucher deal site but after weeks of trying, have been unable to book a treatment either by phone or email with the beautician – they never pick up the phone or answer the mail. I even went to their address which turns out to be a rented space in a hairdressing salon, who said that she never turns up. I would not risk going near this person now. The voucher company say that they cannot give refunds after 7 days of purchase and that I should contact the vendor. I texted the vendor saying I would report them to trading standards. They replied that they would ask the voucher company to refund me. The voucher company again told me to contact the vendor. I am getting nowhere. Any advice on what my rights are and the next step?

Your contract is with the voucher company, insist on a full refund, letter before action?
Plus how did you pay, credit card or debit card? If so contact the card people, you may be protected.

I paid by credit card and the value was well under £100. I feel that I should be entitled to a full refund though.

Who should refund me: The voucher company, the beautician or the credit card company?
  • Who did you pay?

I think it should be the voucher company.

I paid the voucher company, and it is their name that shows up on my credit card statement.

The voucher company is kgbdeals, by the way, and I have bought things from them before with no problems.

Deffo KGB, but you need to be guided by their T&C's concerning refunds.

    TBH. Not going to work.
KGB supplied the voucher. That who any claim by the card provider would be against.
While it could be attempted. Odds on it will fail as KGB would simply prove cm got voucher.

You need to send a "Letter Before Action" to the voucher company, giving them all the dates and times of when you've tried to contact this beauty company, and that as you've had no response, and no one seems to exist at the company premises, you are giving them 14 days from receipt of the letter to refund your £<amount> paid for the voucher, and if they fail to do so, you will take them to court.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
