Hi,
My partner and I are going to be looking for a mortgage around August this year (FTB's). I wanted some advise please.
I defaulted on a credit account (catalogue) in 2002 but didn't knew anything of it until Jan 2007 when i immediately paid it off. Other than that i have 1 or 2 late payments on a credit card but that's it. My partner has excellent credit. Will my default affect us much?

We have just remortgaged with our building society and they ingnored our defaults as they were over three years old.
I don't think it will effect you too much, I would go a see a mortgage advisor so he can look around for the best deals.
